DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

When you sign up as a volunteer in the Dominican Republic, you will get to make ceramic filters first-hand in the filter factory. We will teach you what materials go into the filter, show you how to mold them, fire them in the kiln, and then test them for purification. In addition to this, you will have the opportunity to get to know families that do not have access to clean water and personally distribute filters to their home. We also follow-up with past filter beneficiaries to hear how these filters have changed their lives. When giving the gift of clean water, life is instantly simplified and prioritized. It's an incredible experience.

Amazon

Amazon

The Amazon is our most rustic and adventurous location for volunteers to join our efforts in providing clean water. Once you land in the jungle, you will hop on a canoe, head up the river to a nearby village to do water projects as well as community development. This could include: digging a well, repairing broken wells, teaching hygiene lessons, construction projects, etc. It's a great way to dive straight into the culture as you sleep in a hammock each night and learn first hand about what it takes to dig a well.

Cambodia

Cambodia

Cambodia has a rich and powerful history that plays a significant role into what and why we are doing water projects here.  When you sign up for a trip to Cambodia, you will learn about the implications of the recent genocide, then head into the rice fields of the Svay Rieng province to do something about it, by providing a well for a family.  Volunteers will also be able to dig a latrine for a family, teach hygiene lessons, follow-up with past well/latrine recipients, build relationships with dorm students as you teach English, and learn more about water sanitation, in the city of Phnom Penh.  An unforgettable experience!

Uganda

Uganda

All the photographs and commercials of the African people come to life when you land in Uganda. Volunteers will work with us to make bio-sand filters, rain water harvest tanks, and visit past water projects to see the impact that is made when just one well is repaired.  Not only will you get to see the challenges many face with finding water, but you will personally participate and help within this reality. A very powerful and unforgettable experience.

Nepal

Nepal

The Saturday morning earthquake, back in April 2015, devastated the country of Nepal. Wine To Water was able to responded quickly to this natural disaster by having a team on the ground within a few days to help provide clean water to tens of thousands of people. With all that has been accomplished, the work is far from over.  When you land in Nepal, you will have the rare opportunity to learn about redevelopment, experience water projects first-hand, such as digging wells, constructing rainwater harvesting systems, making bio-sand filters, and performing monitoring and evaluation procedures on some of these projects. This is an experience you will never forget and one that you will truly grow from.
