Field Note #103: Painting Love in the DR

During a community visit in Bonagua, Moca last week in the DR, the volunteers spent time connecting with the locals via face painting, nail polish, jump rope and many other games. This time is so important to fulfilling our mission of community, as well as filling our hearts with love. When it was this sweet girl's turn for face painting, she opted to get her new friends’ names painted on her arms. In turn, volunteer Alyssa and our first ever international intern, Lizzy, "tattooed" Yulkania's name on their arms. This simple act of arm paint shows the love and fellowship that is shared between people from all different backgrounds. Love covers all and transcends everything.
