Volunteer Program Manager

Reports to: Volunteer Program Director
Position: Full-Time, salaried employee
Location: Boone, North Carolina
Projected Start Date July 1, 2018

Job Description:
The Volunteer Programs Manager is primarily responsible for coordinating and managing all of the volunteer teams that go into the field. This position oversees all stateside logistics during the pre-trip and post-trip phase of the volunteers experience with Wine To Water (W|W), and communicating with the ground teams concerning regarding the needed field information. Since the Volunteer Program (VP) exist to provide an opportunity to serve and understand the realities of the global water crisis, and this experience is just one piece of a long-term process of learning about the water crisis, engaging in different cultures, and serving one another in community, this position ensures that each step of the process is done to a high level of accuracy and with a personal touch. This includes developing and executing trainings for Fellows and other potential trip leaders. The VP Manager will work closely with and manage the VP interns on their daily tasks and duties to make sure the team is operating efficiently.

Job Responsibilities

Job Requirements and Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years’ experience working in a office and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, email
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong sense of professionalism
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work with confidential documents, using discretion regarding information held

Reporting:
This position reports to the Volunteer Programs Director. There will be times when this position will liaison between our international headquarters and our field offices. At Wine To Water, constant collaboration between different departments and different projects is highly encouraged.

Partner Development Manager

Reports to: Director of International Programs
Position: Full-time, salaried employee
Location: Boone, North Carolina
Job Description:
The Partner Development Manager (PDM) will be responsible for maintaining and developing existing implementing organizational partners (IOPs), while also identifying new IOPs to integrate into strategic W|W initiatives. The PDM will take the lead role in liaising with IOPs to coordinate development and evaluation of projects. Additionally, as a member of the International Programs Team, the PDM will suggest and justify needs regarding direction and expectations of IOPs, design and implement ideal IOP profiles and expectations, and build and execute standard operating procedures to effectively integrating IOPs into the W|W long term vision and mission.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the Filter Implementation Team
  • Vet IOPs through reference checks and proposal management, caste IOP expectations, complete MOU, coordinate training needs and project logistics including shipping, and organize next steps including future filter deployments/implementations.
  • Seek to grow the Filter Program IOPs & Disaster Relief Preparedness (DRP) Trainer Networks by developing a gap analysis and prioritized list of prospective new partner networks that can be tapped within the aid sector.
  • Assist in achieving the target of tripling the number of Filter Program IOPs and establishing a roster of at least 20 DRP trainers within 1 year.
  • Engage deeply with existing and potential IOPs to learn about needs and provide actionable and realistic feedback in accordance with W|W strategic vision.
  • Engender trust with IOPs by communicating and presenting W|W’s mission in a compelling way that is aligned the IOPs needs and within the scope of W|W’s strategic vision.
  • Maintain and develop working relationships with current IOPs through regular communication and follow up.
  • Explore opportunities and networks that could bring new IOPs into the W|W ecosystem.
  • Develop links with key contacts, organizations and networks within and outside the WASH sector.
  • Liaise with other W|W team members to strategically manage and deliver resources (specifically filters) to approved IOP projects.
  • Ensure all IOP projects are completed on schedule and within budget by leading the planning, organization, and oversight of project funds and logistical details.

  • International humanitarian experience (preferably in the WaSH sector) with ability to lead large cross cultural teams.
  • Ability to communicate and interact well with people of different educational, linguistic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

Volunteer Program Fellowship

Reports to: Volunteer Program Manager
Position: Fellowship, Full-Time, 40 hours/week
Location: Boone, North Carolina

Job Description:
The Volunteer Program Fellow will work closely with the Volunteer Program Manager and assist in coordinating the volunteer trips. This position is primarily responsible for all pre-trip logistics which includes reviewing all applications and references and managing the registration process. This position will also be responsible for overseeing the inventory for the Volunteer Program and occasionally leading volunteer trips internationally.

Job Responsibilities

  • Managing information and general administration support of all volunteer trips
  • Oversee the Volunteer Program interns
  • Producing media content from the field
  • Update and improve forms, manuals and strategies to continually make things more efficient
  • Recruit and develop new partnerships with churches, schools, and companies to go on volunteer trips and support the overall mission of W|W

This position is for a Fellowship. As a Fellow, this position will not be considered a salaried employee of Wine To Water, but instead an independent contractor.
Wine To Water will pay or reimburse for any reasonable and necessary expenses for travel, food, and lodging on trips authorized by Wine To Water.

 

International Fellowship

Reports to: International Operations Director, National Program Manager
Position: Fellowship, Full-Time, 40 hours/week
Location: Nepal, Amazon, Dominican Republic

Job Description:
Reporting to W|W Intl. and the National Program Manager, the International Fellow’s primary responsibility is to act as liaison between W|W Internationall and the W|W Field Office team. Furthermore, the fellow should actively support all functions and program initiatives including but not limited to: team communications, WaSH program implementation, community development, and volunteer team coordination. Lastly, the fellow should work in the spirit of interdependence, innovation, and quality growth to ensure W|W meets its strategic objectives while and supporting the overall mission of W|W.

  • Identifying and vetting WaSH initiatives in support of W|W’s mission
  • Submission of program proposals and reporting in accordance with W|W

  • Management of operational and WaSH program budgets
  • Gathering and submitting impactful and relevant media content
  • Relationship building with local partners, donors, and program stakeholders
  • Volunteer team planning, hosting, and follow- up in accordance with Volunteer Program expectations.
