Volunteer Program Coordinator

Reports to: Volunteer Program Director
Position: Full-Time, salaried employee
Location: Boone, North Carolina
Projected Start Date July 1, 2018

Job Description:
The Volunteer Programs Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordinating and managing all of the volunteer teams that go into the field. This position oversees all stateside logistics during the pre-trip and post-trip phase of the volunteers experience with Wine To Water (W|W), and communicating with the ground teams concerning regarding the needed field information. Since the Volunteer Program (VP) exist to provide an opportunity to serve and understand the realities of the global water crisis, and this experience is just one piece of a long-term process of learning about the water crisis, engaging in different cultures, and serving one another in community, this position ensures that each step of the process is done to a high level of accuracy and with a personal touch. This includes relationally and professionally engaging with volunteers upon their return from a volunteer trip, as well as developing and executing trainings for Fellows and other potential trip leaders. The VP Manager will work closely with and manage the VP interns on their daily tasks and duties to make sure the team is operating efficiently.

The VP Team exists to welcome anyone who is looking for an opportunity to serve, whether in an internship, fellowship, or serving internationally on a volunteer service trip. Our goal is to build a strong community of volunteers who are connected to W|W through meaningful relationships.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage logistics for all volunteer teams

  • Assist with other VP and office duties as needed

Job Requirements and Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years’ experience working in a office and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, email
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong sense of professionalism
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work with confidential documents, using discretion regarding information held
  • Self-motivation to work independently, take initiative and anticipate need

Reporting:
This position reports to the Volunteer Programs Director. There will be times when this position will liaison between our international headquarters and our field offices. At Wine To Water, constant collaboration between different departments and different projects is highly encouraged.

Volunteer Program Fellowship

Reports to: Volunteer Program Manager
Position: Fellowship, Full-Time, 40 hours/week
Location: Boone, North Carolina

Job Description:
The Volunteer Program Fellow will work closely with the Volunteer Program Manager and assist in coordinating the volunteer trips. This position is primarily responsible for all pre-trip logistics which includes reviewing all applications and references and managing the registration process. This position will also be responsible for overseeing the inventory for the Volunteer Program and potentially leading volunteer trips internationally.

Job Responsibilities

  • Managing information and general administration support of all volunteer trips
  • Oversee the Volunteer Program interns
  • Producing media content from the field
  • Update and improve forms, manuals and strategies to continually make things more efficient
  • Recruit and develop new partnerships with churches, schools, and companies to go on volunteer trips and support the overall mission of W|W

Job Requirements:

Social Media and Marketing Fellowship

Reports to: Communications Director
Position: Fellowship, 30-40 hours/week
Location: Boone, North Carolina

Job Description: The Social Media and Marketing Fellow is an honest communicator focused on empowering the Wine To Water community through social media and marketing initiatives. This person is proactive in their search for content that communicates the Wine To Water Mission and creative in their delivery of the content to diverse audiences around the globe. Finally, this person is collaborative, supporting all aspects of the organization from fundraising to international programs, with social media and marketing content.

Qualifications:

  • Must be pursuing or completed a bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in Social Media and Marketing
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent writing, editing, presentation, and communications skills
  • Positive attitude, detail oriented and organized
  • Understanding of Adobe Design software preferred
  • Experience in international travel preferred

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the communication team to better facilitate our social media pages with empowering language and images that better support our mission:
  • Work with the director of communications, develop a social media and marketing strategy that aligns with the overall communications strategy
  • Capture and effectively deliver content on the appropriate social media platforms
  • Monitor performance of social media and regularly update Wine To Water with relevant analytics
  • Respond positively, professionally and timely to all interactions with our content
  • Create written content to effectively communicate the work of W|W to share with the greater audience
  • Coordinate production timelines with the communications to team to keep an organized schedule of campaigns
  • Be the team lead on our “Field Notes” blog
  • Develop content for monthly email updates
  • Coordinate with all other departments to better serve communication/marketing needs
  • Write copy for different events, flyers, letters, etc.
  • When necessary, capture Wine To Water activities through video and photography
  • Assist with the management of media through searchable database
  • Maintain Physical presence in the office to consistently and accurately capture and convey Wine To Water’s tone-of-voice to our audience.

Reporting: This position reports to the Director of Communications. There will be constant opportunities to collaborate with all Wine To Water team members on various projects and activities.

Interdependence and Leadership: Wine To Water operates from a Team of Teams model as opposed to a customary hierarchical business model. This promotes shared consciousness, team collaboration, and empowered execution by all members of the staff and disallows one-way lines of decision-making and communication. The Social Media and Marketing Fellow will participate heavily in staff and interdepartmental meetings and seek out and engage in deep professional development opportunities.

International Fellowship

Reports to: Volunteer Program Director, National Program Manager
Position: Fellowship, Full-Time, 40 hours/week
Location: Nepal, Amazon, Dominican Republic

Job Description:
Reporting to W|W Intl. and the National Program Manager, the International Fellow’s primary responsibility is to act as liaison between W|W International and the W|W Field Office team. Furthermore, the fellow should actively support all functions and program initiatives including but not limited to: team communications, WaSH program implementation, community development, and volunteer team coordination. Lastly, the fellow should work in the spirit of interdependence, innovation, and quality growth to ensure W|W meets its strategic objectives while and supporting the overall mission of W|W.

Reporting:
This position reports to the Volunteer Program Director and the National Program Manager. There will be times when this position will liaison between our International Operations department and our local staff. At Wine To Water, constant collaboration between different departments and different projects is highly encouraged.

Qualifications:
Support the Field Team in:

  • Identifying and vetting WaSH initiatives in support of W|W’s mission
  • Submission of program proposals and reporting in accordance with W|W
  • International Operations SOP
  • Management of operational and WaSH program budgets
  • Gathering and submitting impactful and relevant media content
  • Relationship building with local partners, donors, and program stakeholders
  • Volunteer team planning, hosting, and follow- up in accordance with Volunteer Program expectations.
