Field Note #90: Lizzy’s First Days in the Dominican Republic

Today was my first full day in the Dominican Republic and I LOVE it! I already feel like I have family here and can't wait to keep growing these relationships. We hosted a group from Fathom, and I got to learn beside them about the factory, as well as make my first filter. We also went to a community called Perez, Limón to distribute filters to eight families. I'm practicing driving tomorrow, which should be interesting. And I have not yet been eaten by mosquitos, so I'm feeling pretty confident! I’m so excited to see what's in store and can't wait for Kaylie and the volunteers to get here. Practicing my Spanish and asking lots of questions...definitely getting laughed at.

All in time :)

Buenas Noches!
